Phone/Device Trade-in/Buyback in Singapore – Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. How can I trade in/buyback my device with Mister Mobile Singapore?
You can trade in your device using my online Device Trade-In Calculator to receive an estimated trade-in value.
Once you receive your quote, you can make a reservation at my branch or arrange for doorstep collection, available with a $20 pickup fee.
Trade-in quotes are valid for same-day transactions or until 8pm the following day. For example, a quote received on June 10 will remain valid until 8pm on June 11.
As device prices may change based on market demand and conditions, quotes may change after the validity period. If you plan to trade in your device on another day, simply check the calculator again to receive the latest trade-in value.
Q2: Can I just Trade-In/ Sell my device without purchasing anything from you?
Yes, you can Trade-In your device at the SAME advertised price, regardless of whether you purchase anything from my stores or not.
Q3. Are there any hidden deductions?
There are no additional deductions beyond my advertised prices and deductions. For example, if my Device Trade-In Calculator reflects a deduction of $30 for minor scratches on the screen, there will be no additional deductions beyond this amount.
Q4. How much is a used worth? Can I negotiate for a better price?
I strive to offer fair, transparent, and competitive trade-in prices. Self-report the condition of your device on my Device Trade-In Calculator for a better-estimated quotation.
Q5. I forgot to bring my telco receipt and/or box and/or accessories for my device. Can I bring them back at a later date?
Yes, you can return the missing items within the next 24 hours. However, I will withhold a portion of the payment until the missing items are returned. For example, if your final trade-in value is $1000, I will pay you $900 initially and hold the remaining $100. If the transaction is made on July 20 at 1 pm, you have to return the missing items by July 21 at 1 pm.
Q6. How does Mister Mobile pay for phone trade-ins?
I process trade-in payments via PayNow, using a third-party payment service provider called Aspire. This means you’ll receive your payment through PayNow instead of cash. Payments are processed instantly, but there will be a slight delay in rare cases where the transactions are not approved automatically, and requires manual approval from Aspire. Rest assured that these transactions are confirmed and your patience is greatly appreciated in the event of these occurrences.

Q7. Why do I have to present my NRIC when trading in? Is my personal data safe?
When you trade in your device, I’m required to record your NRIC details as part of the Secondhand Dealers’ License regulations issued by the Singapore Police Force.
Your personal data is kept confidential and used only for this purpose. For more information on how personal data is collected, used, and protected, please refer to the Data Protection Notice.
Q8. Can I trade in a device that is not fully paid off?
No, I cannot accept devices that are still under a financing plan or not fully paid off. Please ensure your device is fully paid before trading it in.
Q9. Can I trade in/buyback a broken device?
Yes, I accept trade-ins for broken or damaged devices. Your device will need to go through a quick condition assessment before it can be accepted.
When you bring in your device, my team will assess its condition and the extent of the damage. In some cases, heavily damaged devices may have a lower trade-in value or may not be accepted.
You can also check the repair costs here to get an estimate of possible deductions before proceeding with the trade-in.
Once the assessment is completed, my team will share the final trade-in value with you.
Q10. Will it be valid if I make a reservation for tomorrow based on today’s latest price?
Yes. For example, if you make your reservation today (01/01/2024) through our trade-in calculator, it will be valid until 8 PM tomorrow after you receive our confirmation email.
